Wegener/DiviCom Solution for New Cable Service in Mexico
DULUTH, Ga., Oct. 14 /PRNewswire/ -- Wegener Corporation (Nasdaq: WGNR) announced it received orders during its recently ended 4th quarter totaling over $900,000 for digital video transmission equipment from Radio Formula, SA located in Mexico. These orders consist of Wegener UNITY401 digital IRDs (Integrated Receiver Decoders), COMPEL Network Control, C0MPEL-CA encryption and DiviCom's (Nasdaq: CUBE) MediaView family of digital encoders. A Fly-Away System (transportable transmit system) is included in this order for sending remote programs to the central site. This equipment will be used by Teleformula, a new cable video service owned by Radio Formula.
Wegener's UNITY401 IRDs will be used to receive two channels of video in locations throughout Mexico from Radio Formula's facility in Mexico City. COMPEL Network Control with COMPEL-CA encryption allow Radio Formula to manage Teleformula's service with complete signal protection. Teleformula will feature video talk shows based on Radio Formula's popular radio shows. Radio Formula plans for this new service to be on the air by end of 1999.
