Interesting post of substance (one of the few) from the Yahoo board: Just Booked My First Intacs Patient! by: i_fix_eye 17716 of 17724 and surely more to come. This patient absolutely did not want to have LASIK or PRK, and wants to bring in her husband as well--who is also a good candidate for the procedure. I'm going to be running a big Intacs ad in the Sunday Long Beach Press Telegram, which should get some attention as the alternative to those $2995 LASIK ads. Also, I'm starting to get calls on my Yellow Pages ad. There is definitely a HUGE non-laser demand out there, as people are starting to hear more about the laser complications. I am not opposed to LASIK in the patient who wouldn't qualify for Intacs, but it's clear to me that INTACS IS THE PROCEDURE OF CHOICE for low myopia. Leaving next week for the big meetings in Orlando, and I know there's going to be standing-room-only crowds during the Intacs presentations. Recommend you buy now during this "quiet" period.
