I am truly sorry to offend you, but religion, much of it, deserves to be ridiculed. As for off-duty priests, my cousin, a Dominican father and professor of theology (now dead) prayed his obligatory hours and refused to pray in the intervals. My uncle Anglican (one of the most intelligent and decent men I have ever known) priest now dead grew to believe that the whole thing was a hoax. and became a surgeon and an active atheist and enemy of the church (once he was off duty). I would probably be more tolerant of religion had I known some intelligent priests who had been able to maintain their faith or delusions. Forgive me. No doubt its just my limited experience with priests who are both continually pious and intelligent.
