Our participation in this event is a continuation of our support for Stardust.com's QoS Forum and will be held between the 20th and 22nd of October, 1999 at the Marriott Hotel, San Francisco Airport.
The iBAND3 Internet Bandwidth Management Summit is dedicated to helping IP network engineers translate IETF work into their networks. The conference focuses on the application and network services that are enabled by emerging IP protocols.
''Cabletron has an aggressive program of QoS delivery mechanisms in all of our switching and routing platforms including the SmartSwitch Router and the SmartSwitch families. Stardust.com's QoS Forum allows us to demonstrate our ability to deliver seamless, application-level Quality of Service, from the backbone to the desktop,'' said Andrew Feldman, senior director, worldwide product marketing, at Cabletron Systems.
Having successfully participated in the QoS Interoperability Test (on the DiffServ track) sponsored by the QoS Forum, Cabletron has helped design the showcase network for iBAND3. Cabletron has placed the SmartSwitch 6000 as one of the supported LAN devices capable of providing QoS, and placed the SmartSwitch Router as the core router providing QoS aware (via DiffServ) connectivity among the five edge segments.
