It's only a question of time before:

1) The OPEC starts cheating.
2) The BOJ starts pumping in liquidity boosting the dollar.
3) The ECB stops searching for the elusive inflationary tendencies in the EU economy (what a joke!), again boosting the dollar.
4) B2B internet economy pushes up productivities faster.
5) Technology, the fastest growing segment of the economy, becomes the largest.

The Bond market told us last October that deflation is going to be a global clamaity. The DAQ has rallied some 100%+ since then. I should not laugh, since a few bears I know got wiped out betting with the bond market and not the Fed. Anyway, trust the Fed to set matters straight, at least till it has been abolished. <VBG>

PS: Oh, and as for gold, even the KTEL short squeeze came to an end. Gold has little economic use other than as a repository of faith.
