It would have to be a hostile takeover. I don't think Wilf would ever give up control of LSI. Remember his comment at the end of an article I posted several weeks ago. I thought I remembered him saying they will probably have to carry him out, or words to that effect.

I'm not sure I buy into your Intel argument. CDMA is owned by Qualcomm. How does Intel standardize something it doesn't own the patent on? And what about the problem when Philips bought out VLSI? Qualcomm pulled the plug. What's to stop them from doing the same thing with DSP? Actually, might work out rather well for LSI.
