Tom, regarding your crashes: I'm not experienced in this compared to some others here. But I can offer my thoughts.

Uninstall Norton Crash Guard. I have done so and have heard from others who say it hurts more than it helps. Consider that Crash Guard must constantly monitor things, thus interfering when you least want it to.

Second: if your modem is a Winmodem [using software] it MAY
provoke crashes. I've heard that - have NO experience here.

If it was me I'd strongly consider moving Excel and other
things less critical to your trading to a second PC.

I think if you have all that stuff running the whole day,
it's no wonder the computer gets confused. I heard NT is
more crash resistant - but know nothing about NT.

Let's see what the more experienced people have to say.
