hi tom,

did you install just norton crashguard, or was that installed as a component of norton utilities or systemworks? if cg was part of the larger utility suite, try running windoctor and/or system doctor.

regarding the likelihood that cg is contributing to your system's instability... yes, i myself have cg installed but keep it disabled most of the time. but let's be real here, the product must have some merit and some good points or it wouldn't be part of the best-selling and highest recommended software suite available. what am i saying here? i'm saying that depending upon umpteen hundred variables, cg works for some and not for others. you are the best judge of whether it helps you.

also, make sure that you are performing a regular routine of emptying cache and temp internet files and also running defrag and scandisk to optimize your system.
