Futures Plunge

Following Greenspan's comments, U.S. stock index futures
plunged in after-hours trading. December futures on the Standard
& Poor's 500 Index fell 15.00 points to 1275.00. That's about 1.4
percent below ``fair value,' taking into account dividends, the
cost of money and days till expiration. Dow futures shed 61 to
10,250. Nasdaq futures fell 34.50 to 2460.00.
``Greenspan knocked down' the dollar and stocks, said
Kenichi Hayashi, a foreign exchange manager at Industrial Bank of
Japan Ltd. ``People had thought U.S. stocks would stabilize
today. The dollar could fall further due to Greenspan's
warnings.'
