John, The v chip thing to me is kinda like designer anything. Change the one molecule of a compound and it is no longer an illegal substance. I can't imagine that Sony, Phillips or any of the big mfg's have not already figured that one out. LOL My understanding of the FCC mandate is that the TV must be able to read the rating code and block out certain pre set (by the parent supposedly) ratings. Most of the 14 patents we discovered do exactly that. No where do I find any technical perameters as to how the chip is built. Ken
