while they hit the earnings target, they also guided the analysts down with respect to the 4th quarter results. in the present market climate, any softening on present or future earnings results in the stock just being punished, sometimes brutally. also, to give you an idea of what a rigged game we are participating in, it just so happens that two institutional houses bought really cheap blocks of put options two days prior to earnings release, so if there is anyone left who thinks that the large institutions do not get a heads up before the rest of the field, think again.
