Oh gosh -- the Thompson Institution Watch seems to be less than reliable for drawing conclusions (not saying that the data itself is unreliable). Over on the Motley Fool discussion boards most of the posters have decided that it's more of a contrary indicator! Perhaps there is a lot of bluff in those buy/sell signals?

There is a very good post here on SI from someone who wrote to Thompsons asking for information on how to interpret the data. I'll try to locate it and post it here.
