Amy - re: ". So, does this mean, if 820 doesn't "play out properly," there's a chance for a future impact in Q4 with respect to the quake? "

The i820 "chipset" doesn't have integrated graphics - so it doesn't factor in to the situation where a graphics chip shortage would shift demand to an Intel integrated graphics/chip set.

On the other hand, the i820 DOES represent a high end/high performance chip set and MIGHT (emphasis on MIGHT) help to sell Coppermine CPUs when they are launched - especially HIGH END Coppermines.

On the flip side, if Intel doesn't have a high perfromance chip set (i820 or i840) to match high end Coppermine CPUs, their may be some performance "hit" with a 440BX or i810e chip set, and Intel will not be able to exact PREMIUM PRICING for the Coppermines.
