X-JOE-X,
Your point regarding events reversing the TA trend seen should be well taken. TA can be a beautiful thing in the absence of strong catalysts steering the price one way or the other. Levels of support and resistance have been demonstrated in GNET over the past 6 months using both "traditional" TA and P&F. P&F may offer the advantage of giving earlier, more distinct trend reversals. This being said, however, events may act as positive or negative catalysts and disrupt what technicians may view as a superb chart.
GNET may drift toward 50....my TA side of the brain can deal with this....the longer a stock remains in a trading range, the higher it is likely to go when resistance is finally broken. It is the fundamentalist side of my brain that reminds me that Paul Allen is creating a cable/broadband goliath and there will be plenty of catalysts to restart the GNET acceleration.
The leaves are just starting to turn amber here in the midwest..another two weeks and fall colors should be perfect just in time for GNET earnings. October has been kind to few markets in recent years and Greenspan seems a bit cautious lately. Time for us to stop watching every uptick and downtick, pour a glass of cider and leave the panic selling to the weak hands.
