PLRX IPO is now settling down at about $25/share. I have loaded up on PLRX and DSCM, and am still considering ESRX -- the most expensive, but the only one with a PE ratio (64). Analysts have chosen to focus on partnerships with health-care payers, but I am not sure that is entirely relevant. I believe that these companies will show rapid ramp-up in earnings regardless of any partnerships with the brick-and-mortar counterparts. Any comments on how these companies stack up against each other? My own humble research shows PLRX is rather error-prone in filling prescriptions. For example, they called my physician to verify a minor prescription -- taking a couple of weeks to follow through -- then accidently filled the prescription twice, thinking that it had been re-ordered by the doctor. Their website also seems a bit difficult to navigate. I suspect they are experiencing some growing pains. However, most of their orders shipped promptly, and they do seem to have a fair level of reliability. People I talk to on the phone seem extremely busy. I can certainly get my Prilosec cheaper and easier through on-line drugstores and will continue to be a customer. I suspect they are having a problem with people who are experimenting with ways of abusing the system. Certainly there is a cottage industry developing in websites where prescriptions are offered -- a shady side of the on-line drug business that will invite closer government scrutiny. However -- I am quite optimistic about on-line drugstores. If a company like Amazon.com can run up on book sales, think what these companies can do with the growing numbers of people who normally spend hundred of bucks on necessary drugs. Every cash customer with more than a handful of brain cells will gravitate to the on-line business, and most physicians will quickly start recommending them -- they offer a convenient free service that saves their patients money and produces more reliable compliance with treatment plans. I think these companies will be the hot spot in the market over the next two years. --JD
