This is the excuse the market has been looking for. Greenie's speech didn't contain anything new. He has said it all before. If it wasn't Greenspan it would be something else. October is harvest month, time to take it all in and hunker down for the coming winter. Combine the instinctual response to shortening days with an overvalued market and deteriorating monetary conditions and you've got an October crash. All that's needed is a catalyst and if the conditions are right, just about any old one will do. Karl
