Richard -
My Bible fails to provide me with guidelines for Intel and what markets it can and cannot enter. The scriptures are vague on this. The US Constitution also does not limit what markets Intel can and cannot enter (as long as they don't enter the "government" market which our elected elete like to think of as their own personal franchise.)
So, I believe Intel has the same right as you and I - They can do whatever they so choose if they do it "legally".
Now, Intel has to decide if making and marketing PCs directly makes business sense. Again, GOD did not give COMPAQ, IBM, GATEWAY, etc. exclusive licenses to make full blown PCs, to the exclusion of Intel (Actually, I'm only guessing this. God and I haven't had a good one on one for a while. He may have made some changes that he failed to inform me of).
Note - CYRIX is making CYRIX branded PCs. Where is all the righteous indignation regarding their decision? Huh?
Businessmen make buisness decisions, and they live and die by these decisions. That is their job. Some succeed, some fail.
Let's just sit back and watch the action, OK? If you think Intel is screwed up, you have the opportunity to bet your farm that they are headed for the bit bucket.Thousands of stock brockers are eagerly awaiting your call to place a short sell on INTC.
Good luck!
