The only issue that has ever come up with any of the Athlon/chipset/motherboard combinations involved some early boards that needed a power cycle instead of accepting a reset to cold boot. It was an easy $6 dollar fix. The problem might have shown up sooner, but since the systems never crashed, they were rarely rebooted.

There were never any stability problems.

I've seen numerous Intel systems that have trouble with resets. Two that are presently in service are a 266mhz notebook and a dual Pentium II 350 server.
