One of the shareholders, head of Geometall Plyus company Ilya Rozenblyum told Interfax-Eurasia the suspension was caused by the absence of a legal foundation for operations. He said a presidential decree on silver ore concentrate exports was drafted over a year ago but has not been signed. If it is not enforced shortly, the biggest investor - Pan-American Silver, which has invested about 30m dollars in the mine's reconstruction, will go bankrupt. Serebro-Dukat was formed on the basis of Dukatskiy GOK [mining and enrichment combine] gold mining complex to mine the ample resources remaining in the area after the exhaustion of gold resources. Two years ago Serebro-Dukat acquired a licence for silver mining. In May 2000 it planned to produce the first silver ore concentrate.
