Glenn - I have to disagree with you. I'm actually surprised that the DOW is down only about 190 at the moment - I thought the sell-off would be more severe. I have to wonder if options expiration might have some impact in helping to hold the market up today.

I don't think we will reach a real "psychological bottom" until the DOW drops more than 500 points in one day. I think it will only be after such a move that you will have a large number of investors that will say to themselves "Okay, the market has corrected, time to get back in and start buying." But I believe these 100-200 point drops followed by rallies make most investors view the market as being extremely volatile, while not instilling any sense that a real correction has taken place.
