SEARCH ENGINE VALUATION Serious question here Steve: how do you value a search engine? I notice that an engine called SavvySearch was just purchased by CNET for $37 million, I think it was. I'm trying to get a ballpark sense of the value of a smaller engine that is probably a bit less-travelled than SavvySearch. You seem to be pretty good with using metrics to get rough valuations for companies that are difficult to value. Any opinion on Savvy Search, or suggestions for making comparisons? I do have vital statistics on the engine in question so a comparison would be theoretically possible. But I'm not sure what a page view or user database is worth for a search engine with a moderate following.

I would also appreciate it if people would contact me if they know something about this area.
