I doubt that Microsoft will buy Palm. There are pretty serious antitrust problems with a move like this, especially in the middle of the antitrust trial.

Palm is much more than the Palm user interface, although this appears to be its key contribution to its new wireless partners. There is palm.net, which has the chance of becoming a serious wireless internet portal. And there is the Palm PDA boxes, which have more than 70% of the PDA market. I truly believe that, given the wonderful news of the last few days regarding Palm alliances, Palm has a chance to really fly following the IPO early next year, so any buyout of Palm right now may not be in the best (medium to long term) interest of COMS shareholders.
