Steve & Eric: I would expect to hear something from the new CEO within the first week or two regarding "the state-of-affairs". It is possible CEO Schmidt is taking inventory and then plans a very detailed set of announcements discussing strategies, management changes, new products, alliances and so fourth.

I still would like to hear a 'trickle' of news to the shareholders BEFORE the annual meeting like ..."This is what I plan to do...", or "I have arrived and will be doing this....", or provide the street with a firm date as to when we can expect to hear the 'forward looking' plans.

My thoughts is that this will all be laid out at the annual stockholders meeting.

P.S. Joe - I have not received any of my proxie materials yet and own Novell in two different accounts with two different brokerage companies. I suspect the response you received from Investor Relations was based on the fact that unless notified the stock held in street name (ie. on account through a brokerage firm) receives all proxy materials and annual statements through a third party service organization. If in fact you hold your own shares (not on account) then Novell's Investors group is required to mail this material directly to the address they have on file for your shares of record. You do not have to call! If this material can not be delivered then a call (from the shareholder) would be in order.

With ADR's however, it is not unusual to get any information and even calling the corresponding investment bank does not assure you of this information. I am still waiting for my DeBeers annual report of two years ago <ug!>.
