As a non-liberal American who actually thinks that American liberalism is less illogical than American conserativism, I am really intrigued by your thinking. It shows that each side of this "spectrum" that Americans identify with is worthless. In reality, thinking patterns do not span a spectrum, but can span a universe. Meanwhile, Americans think that understanding a predeveloped ideology helps them somehow interpret this complex world. The only thing it does is allow others to label you effortlessly. The only way to escape irrational, ideologically-centered thought, is to truly open your mind. Not in the way that liberals propose, but in your own way!
