To the Thread,

A bear speaks.

This morning CLST announced 1Q earnings of .30 vs. .04 a year ago. This is a decline in earnings from the prior quarter, however. Revenues are also down from the prior Q. While the company's expansion into foreign markets is a long-term plus, the strong dollar has to hurt now.

This seems to me to be a promising company whose stock has gotten ahead of itself. I have put my money where my mouth now is: I bought May 17.5 puts a couple of weeks ago. I now expect the price to head in that direction soon, particularly given the broader market, which is showing signs of running out of steam for a while. Zack's did not give any consensus estimate for this Q, though it did give 1.47 for the year. Based on that, I would say CLST missed its numbers, and will be duly punished.

Do any of you know what the numbers were supposed to be? Any whisper numbers y'all heard? Did First Call have numbers? Any conference calls or managerial comments? I think the stock will correct pretty hard now, until a blockbuster quarter or other wonderful news shows up. Long term, the company is probably OK. Reactions from others on the thread?

Good luck to longs and shorts,

Tuck
