FWIW: Oct 12, 1999 issue of NumisMatic News reports the U.S. Mint will (has) reduce its Gold and Silver Eagle allocations in mid-October and Mid-November and suspend sales of Eagles in mid-December. The reason is they are "gearing up" for production in the New Year.
