Peter, Looks like you picked a good time to buy your computer. Cnn was reporting than the retail price of a 64-meg SDRAM SIM had risen from about $40 to $100 and was expected to go to $150 later this year.
I found a good review of the Micron Max600 where they tested it against a reference system using the new Intel 820 chip set. Unfortunately at the time of the test the nVida GeForce 256 graphics card wasn't shipping yet. Still the Micron did rather well and they said once they get the nVida GeForce they will update the results.
