Any thoughts on the optimum time to do this for November?
Given the way the market is acting, I'd do it right now, at least an out-of-the-money one, but I think that the VIX is going to go much higher yet, and I'd certainly like to wait in that case.

If what I think is going to happen on Monday happens on Monday... OK, if Greenie gets his wish (or worst nightmare) and we have a big one-day selloff, would you expect the VIX to peak that day, or to steadily increase (for how long?) afterwards?

Anyone have historical data from 1987?
