Actually it has to do with the fact that Gen WhYne can't make a commitment to a decision. Because piercings are easy to reverse, it is more popular with the non commital generation. GenX on the other hand keeps the attitude "if you don't like it, blow me!" dear to heart, so we purposefully tatoo our bodies, knowing full well we will want them removed later in life. But, we are willing to make a commitment to piss people off, and I respect that. Akula, go see the movie American Beauty, and tell us what you get out of it. It is a GenX flick, and most of the Gen WhYne I overheard speaking after the movie, completely missed it's salient points.
