buy at the most opportune time,
My timing is always bad, so I buy in chunks when feasable. Once it reaches a good price buy some, then some more, then a final bid. It makes for a good average. If I think I am early I buy and immediately sell a covered call. That's what I thought last time and my last RMBS shares will be called over the weekend. It will be a profit, but not as much as if I hadn't sold the calls. Many times though the purchase - covered call will end up matching pretty near the bottom price that the stock reaches. Then I either keep it, or if cash is tight, start selling calls at progressively higher prices until the stock gets called and I have money again. It works most of the time although I have had to catch a few falling knives which leads to the best lesson I learned here, Don't buy a stock that you don't want to own. I don't mind owning Rambus.
