For the person who sent me email concerning his spiritual condition. As requested, I will not use your name in the response. First, please don't feel that you are bothering me. A Christian's life is not his own, it belongs to Jesus(1 Cor 6:19,29 Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your body). I'm not saying I'm perfect in the flesh, but I will say I'm perfect in the Spirit, my second birth. That is, when God sees me He looks at me thru the blood of Jesus, He sees no imperfection in me, I've been washed in the blood of the lamb, eternally clean, safe in Christ) As a Christian, it is my blessed opportunity to glorify God by doing works that honor Him. As His child, I'm here to help people. If you just need to talk, or want my interpretation of Scription, or what ever, feel free to contact me, anytime. You wrote, "As hard as it may be to believe, there was a time that I almost got down on my knees right in front of our( my wife and I) PC and asked Jesus to come back into my life. YES, almost. YES, back." There is a lot that could be said here, but I would like to address your idea of getting Jesus back into your life. Let me say this, JESUS HAS NEVER LEFT YOUR LIFE "IF" YOU ONCE HAD HIM. Having been born into the family of God it is impossible to get unborn, so to speak. Having been born in the flesh, can you get unborn? NO! Many people think they can get born again spiritually, fall away, get born again, fall away, etc. Not true. Once in Jesus, always in Jesus. What happens is, when we sin, the Holy Spirit convicts our conscience. Additionally, our enemy satan, uses this same sense of guilt to make you feel unloved, unwanted, and unworthy. We must know him for what he is, a god-hater and destroyer of God's beautifull creation. He lies to you as he has always lied to God's people. satan is very powerful and man cannot fight him alone. Then how do we defeat such a powerful adversary? Pray, plain and simple, prayer; that is, being in touch with the Father thru the Holy Spirit. It is a work of God's grace to forgive. That is why He encourages us to come to Him and ask forgiveness, "1 John 1:8-10 If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness. If we claim we have not sinned, we make him out to be a liar and his word has no place in our lives." This is part of His nature. It springs from the seedbed of His love for His people. Yes, God is in the sin forgiving business. He waits for you, He hurts for you, He loves you. Cast off the yoke of satan and take on the yoke of Jesus The Christ. Give Him your life, if you never have. Commit all your being to Him. He will make you realize His very presence. The fellowship is the sweetest because you are then in union with God Himself. "James 4:8 Come near to God and he will come near to you. Wash your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded." This is done by confessing and asking forgiveness.
Heb 4:16 - 5:2 "Let us then approach the throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need. Every high priest is selected from among men and is appointed to represent them in matters related to God, to offer gifts and sacrifices for sins. He is able to deal gently with those who are ignorant and are going astray, since he himself is subject to weakness."
Please notice that even the earthly high priest had sin that must be forgiven before he could intercede for men.
God says come, will you do it? Remember on resurrection Sunday, the Angel said,"Come and see.." That is still God's message, "Come and see" , experience the reality of the resurrection of Jesus, know that it has happened; but read a little further, the Scripture says, "Go and tell" The message hasn't changed. It is still, "Come and see...Go and tell". When we give ourselves to Christ, we are not our own any longer. We have a job to do for Him, "Go and tell".
I will reply to the rest of your email at another time. Thank you for this chance to serve my Lord Jesus.
Cling to Jesus, He loves you,
David |
