another main point on put/call ratio is that the extreme ratio usually indicates retailers are buying puts... they have traditionally been the central consumers of "sucker puts"

also, far fewer puts are typically in open positions than calls... so when the put/call ratio gets anywhere near one, we are in extreme zones

thanks for pursuing this valuable indicator
