SKOKIE, Ill.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 9, 1997--Michael S. Seedman, U.S. Robotics (NASDAQ:USRX) vice president and general manager, personal communications division, has been named senior vice president, the company announced today. He will retain his position as general manager.
"Michael has made an exceptional contribution to our organization," said John McCartney, U.S. Robotics president and chief operating officer. "He has played a vital role in expanding the market share of U.S. Robotics personal communications products, including our new x2 Technology."
As senior vice president, Mr. Seedman will continue to have global responsibility for product management, engineering, sales, marketing and technical support for all U.S. Robotics desktop product lines.
Seedman, 40, joined U.S. Robotics in October, 1993. Prior to his association with U.S. Robotics, Seedman founded Practical Peripherals, the Thousand Oaks, California-based modem manufacturer, in 1981. He served as president and chief executive officer from 1981 through 1993, and sold Practical Peripherals to Atlanta-based Hayes Microcomputer, Inc.
