hi Gene !

Re Other IFMX thread: go to the search option at the bottom of the page and type ifmx; the thread informix investment discussion should appear.

Timing for buying: generally I'm bullish on the company - look at the most recent Yahoo headlines...and think for Yourself is this company really going down...have a look at other companies that have gone down I can think of AMD and QNTM (and they are not going to stop where they are now) - they had real product problems look at the percentage return that You would have made had You bought somewhere near the bottom...that of course doesn't mean that IFMX will do the same but they have a fantastic product teaming up with other specialists to provide real world solutions.

Some of the recent assessments I have seen of the company seem to be far removed from earthly relevance - for instance the marketing is too technical: the decision-makers usually consult someone who really can assess the technology - so I don't buy that for instance...another criticism I have heard is that they have spent too much on marketing activities...if future sales are a function of current marketing activity...oh boy You gona have a lot of sales...and the Datablades developed by others will also push sales...so add that to the total marketing effort of a fantastic product...and You have a winner...for the L/T success of the company one or two bad quarters is not all that bad...it is of course unfortunate to be in at the wrong time

All this of course does not mean that I think You should buy...everybody's perception of the risk and their willingness to take a specific risk is different, in addition to the investment time-frame being considered - but if Your broker is familiar with the company I'd really like to know what he thinks.

Maybe someone can give a technical update...buy given current market uncertainty I certainly wouldn't be hasty...

JJ
