I have one. Let's say Bre-X pissed somebody off after the Busang I deposit was found. Busang I is likely similar to the Kelian Mine in geology and proved to be an excellent target for the conspirators. Control of Bre-X is the issue here. There is not likely the 71M ounces originally reported. Professional reuptations are at stake here, namely De Guzman vs "some faceless technician at FCX doing his job". The results from FCX have served their purpose, the money to take control of Bre-X had already been made with salted results and the resulting crash is the perfect opportunity to take control of the company by buying it in the open market (50,000,000 + shares). Bre_X management, a solid reputable team are all fired and the resulting company (worth about 3.50 - 4.00 share ) never does anything again. (but settle lawsuits)
