Matt, thanks for the confirmation of the tremendous demand for the technology. I spent some time in office supply and computer stores today and couldn't help noticing how portable computers and cellphones dominate display space. I saw replacement cellphone batteries that were NiMh and NiCad but no LiIon. About 30% of the Laptops use the technology, but from series/parallel combinations of the 18650 cells with liquid electrolyte. For some, the technology is an upgrade option.

It would be interesting to know if the Sony and Matsushita expansions are to simply produce more liquid electrolyte cells. I tend to agree with your observation that their expansions will help them guarantee supply for their own products.

We're getting closer! Regards, FMK
