Morning, Sarkie. Hope no after effects in Palm Springs. We've had after effects here, with SI down for twelve hours! <gg>
Back to business, an article in the Post this morning, written by Miles Weiss of Bloomberg News, outlines the tax benefits that Allen will reap from Charter. Charter loses money, as do most cable companies, due to depreciation on its huge infrastructure and (my addition) costly upgrades. Allen can take the tax losses on his own income taxes until 2003. If it makes money, Allen pays the taxes on that. Thus Charter investors benefit.
