Dear Allen,

First of all I want to thank you for your compelling in depth analysis which convinced me that WINd was a great investment. Even though WINd has not yet taken us to the Promised Land, the recent developments has me convinced that we are well on our way to getting there.

Your vision about where WINd was going and the way you articulated that vision on this thread over the years was nothing short of brilliant. The recent news proves that your prediction that Micrsoft's CE would eventually fail in it's efforts to usurp WINd's position in the embedded market arena was prescient to say the least:

"Microsoft will continue to chase consumer electronics with evolutions of Windows CE, but with fewer and fewer successes over time. Windows CE with a traditional application layer will prove to be a poor match for niche operating systems, in set-top boxes, in digital imagery devices (cameras, printers, etc.) and in most other niche markets for embedded systems waiting to emerge."

Now that we are at the shores of the proverbial Rubicon, the excitement of this thread will be much more intense if only you were here to help us cross it and reach that Promised Land!

Where have you been Mr. Allen Benn,
A poster turns his lonely eyes to you...

<ggg>

Anyway, I have nominated WINd as a "Gorilla" candidate on the "Gorilla and King Portfolio candidates" thread and I hope you won't mind if I direct that thread to your various posts to present a compelling argument in support of WINd, because this non-techie pea brain is no match to you when it comes to proselytizing others on WINd's potential. <g>

Subject 25851

Hope you will come back soon and lead this disparate band of believers to greater riches...

Regards,
Karim
