One thought...PPI is seasonally adjusted. One assumes that this adjustment takes into account new car price hikes when the new yearly line of autos comes out. Apparently, the new yearly line was introduced early this year so the adjustment would miss this. Not only that, the adjustment will take effect next month as usual, adding a downward bias to PPI. Just a thought. No factual basis...
