What do you mean, "barring a major market collapse"?

Hasn't that already happened? What sort of news would it take for you to want to buy Micron at 45?

Don't get me wrong. I think the sentiment may be a little overly pessimistic, but for Micron to explode through 40 doesn't sound likely, given all it does is make DRAM and SRAM. Now, if it had a new product, then maybe.

Whatever happened to Burst EDO RAM, by the way? Is it dead? I know Intel has declined to support it in their chipsets. So when the industry moves to SDRAM, which is not an advantage to Micron, what then? For the known near term movement to SDRAM, this doesn't look like a boon for Micron. Given SDRAM will be the top, EDO and FPM DRAM will be even lower on the value-added ladder than they are now.

Anyone care to comment on recent developments in SDRAM or Micron's comparative advantage in this field?
