I agree, and it shouldn't just float over his/her head like some weird statement. It may encourage him or her to ask a few questions.

Michael, if you had a female child, in a largely Muslim neighborhood where Muslim prayers were practiced every morning, how would you feel about that? Of course your kid may not choose to participate, but what if they wanted to to be a part of the gang? How would you address the issues with the Muslim faith at home, and would you even want to?
