Deary me. Why on earth do you call me anti-Christian, Michael. I've said, over and over again, that I am Catholic. Are you prejudiced against Catholics? No, that can't be it, because you say that you are Catholic. So, why, pray tell, do you think that I am anti-Christian?
Since you like multiple guess tests, let's try it this way:
1. Is it because I believe in the separation of Church and state?
2. Is it because I've pointed out that America was founded by Christians who were trying to get away from religious persecution in the old country?
3. Is it because I've said that the problem with theocracy (government by religion) is that it leads to persecution of minority groups, like Cromwell persecuting the Irish Catholics, or the French Catholics murdering the Protestants on St. Bartholomew's day?
4. Is it because I've said that I've known many nuns who liked to play scrabble, golf or the piano when they were off duty?
5. Is it because I defend Nihil, who says that he's known priests who did not say prayers when they were off duty?
6. Is it because I don't think it's horrible that Nihil said that there are priests who don't say prayers when they are off duty?
7. Is it because I think that calling Nihil a blowhole is not a Christian act?
I have no idea if it's possible to "mend fences" with a man who calls me "anti-Christian," that's a pretty egregious error, in another time and place it could get me burned at the stake for heresy, and I think people like you would be more than glad to pour on the gasoline. You don't have an ounce of Christian charity, as far as I can see, nor an ounce of Christian humility.
I believe that Nihil is more Christian than you, Michael C., JLA, Zoltan, Sidney and Neo all put together. Christ wouldn't have burned heretics at the stake, and neither would Nihil, and you would, IMO. |
