I think one of the wonderful things about prayer is that one can do it anywhere and no one need know. If people DO know- it is because the person praying wishes others to know they are praying. I can think of only a few reasons to pray so others will know one is praying- 1. to show that one is following along with a prayer in a church setting and 2. to set an example for non- praying people by demonstrating one's own faith. While I think there are many venues for demonstrating one's faith- I do not believe the US school system should be one of those venues.
