Hello Mact and rest of SI sftbf board, missed you all. Happy that 9984 is basically at the same level as when I went holiday-ing. Italy (Rome/Assisi/Florence) were beautiful and inspiring places with staggering (and standing) history and great food (though need to eat fruits and veggies for remaining of October), but no access to "interneto" until I got to the Rome Hilton on last day of trip when the DJIA tanked 260 points.

Mr. Greenspan seems to be chatting down the market in the US to save us from sudden and implosive grief. HK market is apparently being manipulated downward by the big boys wishing to trim the government's profit (+68% so far) on the coming (October 25th) unloading of index shares purchased during the heat of market intervention a year ago (good opportunity to pick up Hong Kong & Shanghai Bank (5), Cheung Kong (1) and SHK Properties (16) for those so inclined to diversify).

My RMBS stablized, RTRSY tanked, Sony, Yhoo and rest of i-net shares holding firm, and Vertical Net (VERT) is way up. Purchased back (closing) some VERT put options at half the price I sold them for.

I remain optismistic for continued runup in top class i-net (last boys standing) shares between now and Christmas/New Years (Y2K or no Y2K), but caution seems to be in order for time beyond late January. What is our collective view?

Lastly, try www.witcapital.com for research on i-net companies not covered by the big houses.

and finally, one of us ought to fee www.iexchange.com on sftbf.
