Many problems are being encountered daily but not enough that cannot be worked through and around. The time for trouble is when they all hit at once on 1/1/00 and they are too numerous too easily overcome.
Also most embedded systems were never considered a problem until Jan 1 2000 and they probably present the straw that can break the camels back. The domino theory and economic fallout from the global economy are what I think is the greatest percentage risk of big big trouble.
