I noticed UPS announced earnings on Friday. UPS net income was up 29% during the 3rd quarter, the final quarter before going public. Revenues increased to $6.72 billion, up 9% from 6.16 billion for same qtr '98. Domestic packaging profits were up 16.1%. The Co said it's international profits improved to 38 million/qtr compared to a loss of 15 million for same qtr '98. UPS spokesman Norman Black said the idea of going public is to create a pool of publicly held stock that UPS can use in acquisitions and other business deals.
It appears UPS' international business is growing faster than it's domestic business. I wonder if PNLK will have a positive impact on UPS' future international revenues. Also, I suppose that there is always the possibility of a "business deal" involving PNLK.
