Sonny,

I do sincerely hope Mr. Fed is not going senile. That would be a certain disaster, at least before he was replaced. He is opening his mouth a lot, but I don't believe he's shooting from the hip. He has a plan for every word he says. It might not be the one that would help either an incumbent president up for election or your or my portfolio.

Bill Gates is optimistic about the future, and has been for a long time. Ballmer might well have been shooting his mouth off. I don't know that Ballmer has a clue about what's a reasonable price for tech stocks. He does know how to run a tech company, but I don't believe that this ability necessarily carries over to the stock market :-).

As far as bargains are concerned, I will buy in the next two days if I see something really good. I'm not one who can be hurried; if I don't make that $5, it's OK because I'm in it for $100 per share over the long term.

Globex looks grim right now (10:27 CDT).
