I want to thank all of the contributors to this thread for your input. As a "techie" who understands the internals of software systems I am still trying to educate myself on the stock market. This forum is helping tremendously.

I was lucky a couple of years ago when a few of us in our department evaluated a little known product called ClearCase from a new company called Atria Software. I took a chance and bought a few shares and have been happy ever since. So far it's been fun. Perhaps Wind River will offer a similar ride.
