Sidney, Everyone who prays publicly is doing it to show off. There is no other reason. Why don't Christians listen to their Jesus, and pray silently, behind closed doors. His words are very clear on this. He did not give exceptions as to why one wants to pray publicly. He says don't do it. Why are you, and your Christian friends not obeying him?

BTW, there are no instances in the Bible where Jesus leads a public prayer, or instructs anybody else to.

Again, even if you weren't going against what Jesus told you to do, I still would never accept you imposing your prayers on me in a public gathering. Keep your religion to yourself. Prayer in public places is nothing more than a power play by certain groups to turn this country into a Christian theocracy.
