*OT* I totally agree (re: Braves)...Cox made some really poor decisions (although he is a great manager)....The squeeze with Maddux (two strikes)...very low % move...why not earlier in the count....Maddux, in the at-bat, had been doing a good job in getting some wood on the ball...catching up to pitches....also, if he made an out...they STILL had a chance to get the run home (lead-off hitter w/2 outs)...
Klesko is also NOT my ideal squeeze candidate...
In the later innings, I would have prefered to see the Braves get more aggressive on the basepathes...Piazza is hurt (and easy to steal off of...) With wet ball/grass...odds were good...wasted ops in late innings...
Also, he had to bring in Glavine/Millwood in the 15th inning...they had an op to win....relying on McG was a big mistake...
Don't worry, though, Braves still have it in the bag...would have been nice to get some rest though...
That HDL....he/she is a negative one....eh??? As you correctly stated, the time to buy (great companies) is when such a sentiment is around....Today, take a look at Lexmark....it will get hammered on its earnings report...but they are really making strides in corporate printer market...in mid-70's, should provide a nice return over next year.....Of course, Tyco Int. still a big bargain here...I think we'll see mid-90's by end of week...
I just heard Don Rateczech (sp?) of Georgia State talk about how CPI data is accumulated....man, the process is even more antiquated than I thought....Is there no better way to get a handle on this whole picture (besides listening to you <G>) |
